Fun Fact
The invasion of Poland started World War II, a war that involved countries all over the world!

Where is Poland?

Poland is a country in Europe, a big continent far away! It's like a giant puzzle piece in the middle of other countries. Poland has flat lands, rolling hills, and even some sparkly lakes. In the summer, it can be warm like a sunny day at the park, and in the winter, it gets cold and snowy, perfect for building snowmen! It's a place with lots of nature to explore.

A Big Surprise Attack!

One day in 1939, a country called Germany, led by a man named Hitler, suddenly attacked Poland. It was a big surprise! Germany used lots of tanks, which are like super-strong armored cars, and airplanes that zoomed through the sky. They wanted to take over Poland. This surprise attack was the start of a very big and sad war called World War II.

Friends Jump In!

When Germany attacked Poland, two other countries, France and the United Kingdom, were Poland's friends. They had promised to help Poland if it was ever attacked. So, when Germany invaded, these friends declared war on Germany. It was like saying, 'Hey, you can't pick on our friend!' This made the fight much bigger.

What Happened Next?

Because Germany attacked so suddenly and with so many soldiers and machines, they were able to take over a lot of Poland very quickly. It was a very difficult time for the people of Poland. This invasion showed everyone how dangerous surprise attacks could be and how important it is for countries to help each other.
