The Hydrogen Helpers Club!

The International Association for Hydrogen Energy, or IAHE for short, is like a big, friendly club for grown-ups who are super interested in hydrogen. Hydrogen is a special gas that can be used to make power without making a lot of yucky pollution. These scientists and engineers get together to share their cool ideas and learn from each other about how to use hydrogen to make our planet cleaner and healthier.

They want to find the best ways to make and use hydrogen power for everyone!

This club didn't just pop up overnight! It was started a long, long time ago, in 1974. That's even before your parents were born!

The people who started it were really excited about hydrogen and thought it was important to have a place where everyone who cared about it could meet. They wanted to make sure that lots of smart people all over the world could talk about hydrogen and help it become a big part of how we get our energy in the future. It’s like a historical society for a super cool gas!

Hydrogen is like a superhero for the environment! When you use hydrogen to make electricity or power cars, the only thing that comes out is water vapor, which is like steam from a kettle. That means no smoggy air or yucky greenhouse gases that make our planet too hot.

The IAHE helps scientists figure out how to make hydrogen safely and cheaply, so we can use it more and more. This helps us fight climate change and keep our air fresh and clean for playing outside!
