Where Did They Come From?

A long, long time ago, in a land called Afghanistan, lived a group of people called the Ghilji Pashtuns. They were strong and brave! Their leader, Mirwais Hotak, decided they were ready to be in charge of their own land.

He led a big rebellion, like a daring adventure, against the faraway rulers of Persia. It was like a playground game where the kids who were usually told what to do suddenly took charge of the swings!

Who Was in Charge?

Mirwais Hotak was the first big boss! After he got sick and passed away, his brother took over. But then, Mirwais's nephew, a fellow named Mahmud, was super ambitious. He kicked out the old rulers and became the new leader of a huge area. Later, another cousin named Ashraf took charge. It was like a game of musical chairs, but with kingdoms! These leaders were the main stars of the Hotak story.

A Kingdom for a Short Time!

The Hotak Dynasty ruled for about 20 years, which is like a blink of an eye in history! They took control of parts of Afghanistan and Iran. But their rule didn't last forever. A powerful new leader named Nader Shah came along. He was like a superhero who defeated Ashraf in a big battle. The Hotaks lost their power, and their big kingdom became small again, like a balloon that slowly deflates.

Why They're Cool to Know!

Even though the Hotak Dynasty didn't rule for very long, they showed that people could stand up for themselves and try to rule their own land. They were important because they changed who was in charge of a big part of the world for a little while. It’s like when you build an amazing fort out of pillows, even if it falls down later, it was still super cool while it lasted!
