Harry Nilsson

Harry Nilsson was a singer and songwriter who made awesome music in the 1970s. He was like a musical wizard who could make his voice sound like a whole choir by himself! He didn't like playing big concerts, but his songs were so good that everyone wanted to hear them. He was born in a big city called Brooklyn and moved to sunny California when he was a teenager.

Before becoming a famous musician, Harry worked with computers! Can you imagine that? While working at a bank, he started writing songs and singing with friends. His songs were so catchy that other famous singers started recording them. One of his first big albums was called 'Pandemonium Shadow Show', and he even made a special story album for kids called 'The Point!'.

Harry wrote and sang some super popular songs. His album 'Nilsson Schmilsson' had hits like 'Without You' and 'Coconut'. You might have heard 'Everybody's Talkin'' in a movie called 'Midnight Cowboy'! Even The Beatles said he was their favorite American musician. They even called him 'the American Beatle' because his music was so cool.

Harry was a true original! He was one of the first people to record songs by singing the same part over and over to make it sound like a big group. He also made the first remix album, which is like taking a song and changing it up in new ways. He was so creative that musicians still think he's amazing today!
