Many of them hug the famous Nile River, which is like Egypt's superhighway for water and life!

Some governorates are near the sparkling Mediterranean Sea, while others are close to the warm Red Sea. They have sunny weather most of the year, perfect for exploring!

Who Lives in These Places?

Lots and lots of people call these governorates home! The biggest and busiest governorates are like super-crowded cities, with millions of people living there. Most Egyptians speak Arabic, which is a beautiful language.

They also have amazing traditions and love to share their culture, like delicious food and vibrant music. Each governorate has its own capital city, which is like the main town where important decisions are made and lots of activity happens.

What Do People Do All Day?

People in Egypt's governorates do all sorts of jobs! Many work on farms, growing yummy fruits and vegetables along the Nile River. Others work in big factories, making things that are sent all over the world.

Some governorates have busy ports where ships bring and take goods. And of course, many people work in tourism, showing visitors the incredible ancient wonders like pyramids and temples that make Egypt so famous!

How Are They Run?

Each governorate is like a mini-country within Egypt, and it has a governor who is in charge. The governor is like the principal of a big school, making sure everything runs smoothly. They help make sure there are schools, hospitals, and roads for everyone.

The governorates also have local councils that help decide what the neighborhood needs. It’s all about working together to make Egypt a great place to live!
