George Bernard Shaw: The Playwright Who Loved Words!

George Bernard Shaw, or 'Bernie' as some might call him, was a super-talented writer from Ireland! He was born a long, long time ago, in 1856, and lived to be 94 years old! Bernie didn't just write stories; he wrote plays that were like exciting movies for the stage.

He wrote over 60 plays, which is a LOT! Some of his most famous ones are about people learning new things and about brave heroes. He loved using words to make people laugh and think.

Bernie started his life in a city called Dublin, in Ireland. When he grew up a bit, he moved to London, a huge city in England. At first, it was tricky for him to become a famous writer.

But Bernie was super determined! He read tons of books and taught himself all sorts of things. He became a famous critic, which means he shared his opinions about plays and music.

Then, he started writing his own plays, and people loved them!

Bernie's plays were special because they weren't just about silly adventures. They were also about important ideas, like how people should be treated and what makes a good society. He wanted his plays to make people think about the world around them.

One of his most famous plays, 'Pygmalion,' is about a flower girl who learns to speak like a fancy lady. It was so popular that it was even made into a movie called 'My Fair Lady'!
