Where is Wales?

Imagine a country shaped like a bumpy mitten! Wales is part of the United Kingdom, like a neighbor to England. It's surrounded by the big, blue Irish Sea on two sides and the Bristol Channel on the bottom. It's about as long as 130 school buses lined up end to end from top to bottom, and it has a super long coastline, perfect for spotting seagulls!

Wales's Big, Bumpy Back!

Wales is mostly made of hills and mountains, like a giant's bumpy blanket! The land is higher in the middle and north, with some parts being very steep. But don't worry, there are flatter, greener parts too, especially near the sea. These flat bits are great for growing yummy food. It's a bit like having a playground with both slides and climbing frames!

Weather Wonders!

Because Wales is close to the big Atlantic Ocean, the weather can be a bit wild! It's usually mild, meaning not too hot and not too cold. But it's also often cloudy and quite windy, so you might need your raincoat and hat! The wind blows from the west, bringing lots of rain, which helps keep all the green grass and pretty flowers growing.

Island Adventures!

Did you know Wales has islands? The biggest one is called Anglesey, and it's like a little country all on its own! You can get to it by bridges. The coastline of Wales, including Anglesey, is so long it could stretch across many, many football fields! It's a fantastic place for exploring and finding hidden beaches.
