Fun Fact
The UK is the 7th largest island country in the world.

Where is the UK?

Imagine a country made of islands, floating in the big, blue ocean! That's the United Kingdom. It's made of four parts: England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

It's like a giant puzzle piece that's broken into four bits. The UK sits near Europe, and you can even travel to France through a super long tunnel under the sea! It's also close to the big Atlantic Ocean and the North Sea, where lots of boats sail.

What Does it Look Like?

The UK has all sorts of cool landscapes! There are tall mountains, especially in Scotland and Wales, that are like giant steps for giants. You'll also find green, rolling hills perfect for sheep to munch on.

And don't forget the coastlines with sandy beaches and rocky cliffs where waves crash. It's not super hot or super cold there, but it can rain quite a bit, making everything extra green and lush. It's like nature's playground!

Tiny Islands and Big Seas!

The United Kingdom is actually made up of over 6,000 islands, but most people live on the two biggest ones: Great Britain and Ireland. Great Britain is so big, it's the 7th largest island in the whole world! The UK is surrounded by the mighty Atlantic Ocean and the busy North Sea.

Sometimes, the land gets very close to other countries, like France, and there's even a special tunnel that goes underneath the water to connect them!

People and Places!

Lots of people call the UK home! The biggest city is London, which is like a super busy hive of activity. People in the UK speak English, but in some parts, like Wales, they also speak Welsh. The UK has a long history, and you can find old castles and ancient ruins everywhere you look. It's a place filled with stories from long ago, and people today still love to share those tales.
