Gene Sarazen

Imagine hitting a tiny ball with a stick really, really far! That's golf, and Gene Sarazen was one of the best players ever. He was born a long, long time ago, in 1902, and his real name was Eugenio Saraceni. He loved golf so much that he became a professional player, which means he got to play it for a living! He was super good in the 1920s and 1930s, winning lots of big games.

Gene Sarazen was like a superhero in golf because he won seven super important championships. These are called 'major championships.' He's one of only a few people in the whole world to win all four of the biggest ones! Think of it like winning the championship in soccer, basketball, baseball, and swimming all in the same year.

He won the U.S. Open twice, the PGA Championship three times, The Open Championship once, and the Masters Tournament once. That's a lot of trophies!
