Gedling Town F.C.

Gedling Town F.C. was a special football club from England that played exciting games. They were like a team of local heroes who loved kicking a ball around. Even though they aren't playing anymore, their story is fun to learn about.

This team started way back in 1985, not as a big club, but as a team for people who worked at a company called R & R Scaffolding. They played games in local leagues for a few years. Then, in 1990, they decided to become Gedling Town and play in bigger leagues.

It was like going from playing in your backyard to playing on a big stadium field! They joined the main football system in England in 1992.

Gedling Town had a super cool nickname: 'The Ferrymen'! This might be because their stadium, the Riverside Stadium, was near a river. Maybe they used to cross a river like a ferry to get to their games, or perhaps it was just a fun name!
