Gazprom: The Giant Gas Company!

Gazprom is a super-duper big company from Russia that deals with gas. Gas is what we use to heat our homes in the winter and cook yummy food on the stove. Gazprom is like a giant in the world of energy, making sure gas gets from where it's found deep underground all the way to our houses. It's so big that its name comes from a Russian phrase meaning 'gas industry'!

Gazprom is like a super-smart delivery service for gas. They find the gas, dig it up, and then they build HUGE pipes, like super-long metal snakes, to send it places. Some of these pipes are so long they stretch across countries and even under the sea! They also have special trucks and ships to move gas around. It's a very important job to make sure everyone has the gas they need.

Gazprom started a long, long time ago, back when Russia was part of a country called the Soviet Union. It was first a government department that took care of all the gas. Then, after the Soviet Union changed, Gazprom became a company. For a while, it was run a bit differently, but now the Russian government owns most of it again. It's been around for many years, learning and growing!

Gazprom is important because it provides a lot of the natural gas that people use every day. Think about how many houses need to be warm and how many stoves need to cook food! Gazprom produces about one out of every eight big buckets of gas used all around the world. That's a lot of gas! They also help make electricity with the gas they have.
