Meet the Man Who Said 'No More!'

Francisco I. Madero was a super important person in Mexico. He was born a long, long time ago, in 1873. He came from a very rich family, but he cared a lot about making things fair for everyone. He believed that people should get to choose their leaders, not just have one person in charge forever. He was like a superhero who wanted to make Mexico a better place for all its people.

The Big Election That Went Wrong

There was a leader named Porfirio Díaz who had been president for a really long time. He promised to let people vote for a new leader, but then he didn't! He said he won the election even though it wasn't fair. Francisco Madero was so upset by this that he decided to do something about it. He wrote a book saying it was time for a change and started a movement to make sure people's votes counted.

Starting the Mexican Revolution!

When the unfair election happened, Francisco Madero didn't give up. He escaped from jail and went to the United States. From there, he told everyone in Mexico it was time to fight for their rights. This big fight was called the Mexican Revolution. Many brave people joined him, like Pancho Villa and Pascual Orozco, who helped lead the fight. It was a huge moment that changed Mexico forever.

Becoming President and Facing Challenges

After a lot of fighting, Porfirio Díaz left Mexico, and Francisco Madero became the president! Everyone was so happy. But being president was hard. Some people wanted him to give them land, and others thought he wasn't making changes fast enough. Even though he wanted to do good things, not everyone agreed with him, and he faced many problems during his time as president.
