Where Did Feodor Rule?

Feodor III was a Tsar, which is like a king, of a very big place called Russia! Back then, Russia was a huge land with cold winters and snowy forests. It was so big, it would take many days to travel across it. Feodor ruled from a grand city called Moscow, which was the heart of his kingdom. Think of Moscow as the biggest playground in all of Russia, where all the important decisions were made.

A Tsar Who Liked Books!

Feodor III wasn't like some kings who only cared about battles. He loved learning and wanted everyone in Russia to learn too! He was often sick, so he spent a lot of time reading and thinking.

He even started a special school called the Slavic Greek Latin Academy. This was one of the first places where people could go to learn many different subjects, like reading, writing, and even ancient languages!

Making Russia Fairer

Feodor III wanted to make sure that the best people got important jobs in his government and army. Before him, sometimes jobs were given to people just because their family was important. Feodor believed that if someone was smart and worked hard, they should get a good job, no matter who their parents were.

This idea is called meritocracy, and it helped make Russia a fairer place for people to work and serve their country.

Feodor's Short Reign

Feodor III became Tsar when he was only 14 years old, which is younger than most kids in middle school! He ruled for a few years, from 1676 until he sadly passed away in 1682. Even though his time as Tsar was short, he made a big difference by encouraging learning and trying to make his country's jobs more fair. He showed that even a young ruler could have important ideas.
