What's This Silly Game?

Exquisite Corpse is a super fun game where friends make a picture or a story together, but with a twist! Each person adds to it without seeing what the person before them did, except for a tiny peek. It's like a surprise party for your drawings and words, where everyone's contribution is a mystery until the very end.

The results are often funny and totally unexpected, like a wacky monster or a wild adventure story that no one planned!

Where Did This Game Come From?

This game started a long, long time ago with artists in a place called Paris, France. They called it 'cadavre exquis,' which means 'exquisite cadaver' in French. It sounds a bit spooky, but it was just a playful name for their creative game.

They would fold paper so only the very edge showed, and then the next artist would draw or write something new. It helped them come up with wild ideas they wouldn't have thought of on their own!

Why Is It So Cool?

This game is cool because it helps you be super creative and work with your friends. Even if you only see a little bit of what someone else did, it sparks your imagination to add something totally new. It teaches you that sometimes the best ideas happen when you don't know exactly what's coming next.

It's like building with LEGOs, but instead of bricks, you're using words and pictures to build something amazing together!

How Do You Play?

Playing Exquisite Corpse is easy! For drawing, you can fold a piece of paper into sections. The first person draws a head, then folds the paper so only the neck lines show.

The next person draws a body, folds it so only the waist shows, and the last person draws legs. When you unfold it, you get a funny, mixed-up creature! For writing, one person writes a sentence, then folds the paper to show only the last word.

The next person writes a sentence starting with that word, and so on.
