What's Happening When It's Not Fair?

Exploitation is like when someone is treated unfairly, and someone else is taking advantage of them. It means someone is using another person or even nature in a way that isn't kind or right. It's like someone taking all the cookies without sharing, or making you do all the chores without any help.

This can happen in many different ways, and it's important to know about it so we can help make things fair for everyone.

Where Did This Unfairness Start?

People have been treating each other unfairly for a very, very long time. Sometimes, powerful people or groups would take things from others, like land or even people's freedom. This happened in different places around the world, and it often meant that some people had to work super hard for others without getting much in return.

It's like a really old story of unfairness that we still need to fix.

Why Does Being Fair Matter So Much?

Being fair is super important because everyone deserves to be treated with respect and kindness. When people are exploited, they don't get a chance to be happy or safe. It's like if your favorite toy was broken and you couldn't play with it anymore.

Exploitation can also hurt the Earth, like when people take too many trees or too much water without thinking about the future. We want everyone and everything to be healthy and happy!

What Does Exploitation Look Like?

Exploitation can look like people being forced to work for very little money, or even no money at all, for long hours. It can also mean someone being tricked into doing something they don't want to do. Sometimes, it's about taking too much from nature, like cutting down too many trees in a forest, which can make it hard for animals to live there.

It’s all about one person or group getting more by taking from another unfairly.
