Eisenhower Executive Office Building

This super-big building is called the Eisenhower Executive Office Building. It's right next to the White House in Washington, D.C. Think of it like a really important office building for the President's helpers.

It's so big, it used to be called the State, War, and Navy Building because lots of important government people worked there when it first opened way back in 1888. That's older than your grandparents' grandparents!

This building has been around for a super long time! President Ulysses S. Grant wanted a place for three important government departments to work, so they started building it in 1871.

It took a long time to finish, finally opening in 1888. It was so fancy that some people didn't like how it looked at first! But now, it's a famous landmark.

It was even renamed in honor of President Dwight D. Eisenhower, who was a famous general too.

This building is important because it's where many of the President's most important advisors work. They help the President make big decisions about our country. It's like the brain center for the President's team! People who work here help with things like making sure our country is safe and managing how the government spends money. It's a busy place with lots of important jobs happening inside.

Even though it looks like one giant building, it's filled with many different offices. The White House Office, where people help the President directly, is here. The Vice President also has offices inside!

Plus, the Office of Management and Budget, which helps decide how money is spent, and the National Security Council, which helps keep our country safe, all have their teams working here. It's a hub of activity!
