Imagine a special neighborhood called Walford, right in the East End of London, England. This is where the TV show EastEnders happens! It's not a real place you can visit on a map, but it feels like a real town to the people who watch.

Think of it like a giant playground where everyone knows each other and lots of adventures happen every day. The show is all about the people who live and work there, and their families.

EastEnders first popped onto our TV screens way back in 1985. That's even before your parents might have been born! It was created by two people, Julia Smith and Tony Holland, who wanted to tell stories about families in London.

It became super popular really fast, like a new toy everyone wanted to play with. People loved it so much that it quickly became one of the most watched shows on TV in Britain!

The heart of EastEnders is all about families living on a street called Albert Square. There are big families like the Watts, the Beales, and the Fowlers, and many more! They have all sorts of exciting and sometimes surprising things happen to them. It's like having lots of different friends and neighbors, and you get to see what their lives are like, from happy times to tricky times.

The show is filmed in a special place called the BBC Elstree Centre. They have a whole street set up that looks like a real neighborhood, but it's outside! Sometimes the weather can be a bit of a surprise for the actors.

They even built a brand new street set that looks even more like a real place. One time, a Christmas episode was watched by over 30 million people – that's more people than can fit in a giant stadium!
