Duke University

Duke University is a super big and important school in a city called Durham, North Carolina. It's like a small town just for learning! It has beautiful buildings, some that look like old castles with tall towers.

One of the most famous is the Duke Chapel, which is as tall as a 20-story building! This school is a place where people go to learn all sorts of amazing things, from how to help people when they are sick to how to build cool robots.

This school started a long, long time ago, way back in 1838. It was first started by people called Methodists and Quakers. Back then, it was a much smaller place. Later, a very rich businessman named James Buchanan Duke helped the school grow even bigger. He loved learning and wanted to make sure others could too. He even gave the school his family's name, Duke, to honor his dad!

Duke is famous for lots of reasons! It's a place where scientists do important research, trying to discover new things that can help the world. It's also known for its amazing sports teams, especially basketball!

The athletes are called the Blue Devils, and they wear blue uniforms. They have won many big games and championships. Plus, Duke is part of a special group of three big universities that work together like a super team.

Duke is not just in North Carolina! It has special schools in other countries too. There's a medical school in Singapore, which is a country far away in Asia. There's also another university in China, another country in Asia. This means students at Duke can learn about different cultures and explore the world, even while they are studying to become doctors or scientists!
