Conrad Gessner

Conrad Gessner wrote some HUGE books! One was like a giant library catalog, listing tons of books that existed back then. Another was called 'Historia animalium,' which means 'History of Animals.' It was filled with pictures and descriptions of so many different creatures!

He was one of the first people to write down detailed information about animals and plants, like the beautiful tulip flower. These books were super important for helping other scientists learn.

Conrad was like a detective for plants and animals. He would travel around and carefully observe them, drawing them and writing down everything he noticed. He was the first person to describe many plants and animals in Europe.
