Meet the Giant Mountains!

Imagine a super long line of mountains, like a giant's rocky backbone, stretching for 1,000 miles! That's the Coast Mountains. They hug the edge of the land, right next to the big, blue ocean. On one side, you have the salty sea, and on the other, you have forests and icy peaks. It's a wild and beautiful place where land meets water.

Snowy Tops and Green Valleys

These mountains are so tall that their tops are covered in snow and ice, even in summer! They have huge ice fields, bigger than any playground you've ever seen. Down below, where it's not so cold, you'll find thick, green forests. It's like two different worlds living side by side: icy giants up high and lush forests down low.

A Home for Many!

Even though it looks wild, people and animals call the Coast Mountains home. Many different kinds of plants grow here because of the rain from the ocean. Animals like bears and eagles live in the forests and on the rocky slopes. It's a special place that needs to be taken care of.

Why They're So Cool!

The Coast Mountains are part of a much bigger mountain family that goes all the way down South America! They are also near volcanoes, like a giant's fiery breath. The highest peak, Mount Waddington, is super tall, reaching over 13,000 feet, which is taller than 100 school buses stacked up!
