Where the River Gets a Hug!

Ciudad Bolívar is a special city in Venezuela, a country far away. It sits right where the huge Orinoco River gets squeezed to be only about as wide as a mile! That's like fitting 10 football fields side-by-side.

This spot is super important because it's the first place a bridge could be built to cross the mighty river. It's also a busy port, like a big parking lot for boats that carry important things.

A City with a Secret Past!

This city wasn't always called Ciudad Bolívar. A long, long time ago, it was known as Angostura. That name is like a secret code because it's part of the name of a special tree, a famous drink called Angostura bitters, and even a big meeting called the Congress of Angostura.

The old part of the city still looks like it did hundreds of years ago, with a beautiful church and buildings around a sunny square.

River Adventures and Busy Bees!

Because it's right on the big Orinoco River, Ciudad Bolívar is a super busy place for boats. These boats help trade things all over the eastern part of Venezuela. People in the city work hard, and they have lots of traditions and ways of life that have been passed down. The city is named after a very important hero named Simón Bolívar, who helped many countries in South America become free.

Learning and Growing Together!

Just like you go to school to learn new things, people in Ciudad Bolívar have schools too! They learn reading, writing, and math. The city is the capital of a big state called Bolívar State. Being the capital means it's the main city where important decisions are made for the whole area. It's a place where people live, work, and learn, all connected by the big river.
