This school started way back in 1437, even before your grandparents' grandparents were born! It was first called 'God's House'. But then, a very important lady named Lady Margaret Beaufort gave it lots of money.
Because of her kindness, the school got a new name in 1505: Christ's College. It became the twelfth school to be started in this modern way at Cambridge University. Think of it like getting a super cool makeover!
Where Famous Thinkers Hung Out!
Guess what? Some super famous people went to Christ's College! There was a poet named John Milton who wrote amazing poems.
And Charles Darwin, who figured out how animals and plants change over a very long time. Even people who won Nobel Prizes, which are like the biggest awards for smart ideas, studied here! It shows that this college is a place where brilliant people come to learn and do incredible things.
