Meet the River Giant!

The Chinese sturgeon is a super old and very big fish that used to swim in rivers and oceans near China, Japan, and Korea. It's like a dinosaur of the fish world! Sadly, there aren't many left, making it a very special and rare creature. It's so important that China calls it a 'national treasure', just like the giant panda!

Where Did They Go?

Long ago, these fish could travel between the salty ocean and the fresh rivers to lay their eggs. But as more people built things near rivers and fished too much, their homes got smaller and they had fewer places to live and eat. This made it very hard for them to survive, and now they are in danger.

Super Sturgeon Superpowers!

Chinese sturgeons are amazing swimmers and can grow very, very big. They have a long, pointy nose and a body covered in bony plates instead of scales, like armor! They eat small creatures that live on the river bottom. Scientists are working hard to help these fish by protecting their homes and raising baby sturgeons to release back into the rivers.

Why We Need to Help

These fish are like living history books, telling us about the past of our rivers. When we protect them, we also help keep the rivers clean and healthy for other animals and plants. Saving the Chinese sturgeon means saving a piece of our planet's amazing natural story for everyone to enjoy.
