A Day No One Forgot

On a sunny morning, something very sad happened. Terrible things happened in big cities and on airplanes. So many people lost their lives that day. It was like losing a whole school full of friends all at once. This day is called September 11th, or 9/11. It's important to remember the people who were there and the families who missed them.

Where the Sadness Happened

Two giant buildings in New York City, called the Twin Towers, were hit. They were so tall, taller than the tallest playground slide you can imagine! Sadly, about 2,700 people were in these towers and couldn't get out. Other sad things happened at a building called the Pentagon and on four airplanes. It was a very, very sad day for many places.

Heroes and Helpers

Many brave people rushed to help when the bad things happened. Firefighters, police officers, and other helpers worked so hard. Sadly, many of these heroes also lost their lives trying to save others. Imagine a whole fire station full of firefighters being lost. It shows how brave they were. We remember them for their courage.

More Than Just a Number

It's easy to hear a big number like 2,996 and not understand. But each number was a real person! They had families, friends, and dreams. Some were moms and dads, some were kids, and some were people who had traveled from all over the world. Every single person mattered, and their stories are important to remember.
