Key Facts
Where the Land Says Hello to the Sea!
Cap de Creus is a super cool peninsula way up in the northeast corner of Spain, almost touching France! It's the very easternmost tip of the whole country, like the nose of Spain sticking out into the big blue ocean. This place is a Natural Park, which means it's protected and super special.
It's a bit wild and rocky, with hardly any trees because the wind loves to play here! But the sea is a beautiful deep blue, with tiny coves perfect for boats to hide in.
Windy Wonders and Old Stories
The wind at Cap de Creus is famous, especially a strong one called the 'tramontana'. It blows so hard it has caused many shipwrecks over the years! The mountains here are the end of a big mountain range called the Pyrenees, which also form the border with France.
There's an old, old monastery called Sant Pere de Rodes that sits high up on a mountain, about as tall as a very tall skyscraper! People say a hero named Hercules might have even carved this amazing place!
Artists' Paradise and Tiny Towns
Even though it's rocky and windy, Cap de Creus is a favorite spot for artists and writers. The most famous village is Cadaqués, which is super pretty and has a special vibe. Nearby is Port Lligat, where a famous artist named Salvador Dalí built his house right on the water!
Dalí loved this place so much that he painted it in some of his most famous pictures. There's also a smaller fishing village called El Port de la Selva with yummy food.
A Natural Playground
Cap de Creus is a Natural Park, which means it's a special place for nature. It's a big area, about the size of 24,000 soccer fields! The land is dry and rocky, shaped by the strong winds. But along the coast, you find secret little bays with clear, deep blue water. It’s a place where you can see amazing views from the mountains, feel the wind on your face, and imagine ancient stories.
