Bobby Jenks

Imagine a superhero on a baseball field! That was Bobby Jenks. He was a special kind of player called a pitcher. His job was to throw the baseball really, really fast to the batter. Bobby played for big teams like the Chicago White Sox and the Boston Red Sox. He was so good, he even got to play in the All-Star game twice, which is like being picked for the best team in the whole league!

One of the most exciting things Bobby did was in 2005. His team, the White Sox, was playing in the World Series, which is the biggest championship in baseball! Bobby was the one who got the very last out of the game. That means he made the final play that won the whole championship for his team. Everyone cheered so loud! Bobby Jenks had a super-power: his arm! He could throw a baseball so fast, it was like a lightning bolt. Sometimes, his pitches were clocked at 102 miles per hour! That's faster than a car driving on the highway. It's so fast that batters had a very hard time even hitting the ball.
