Bernie Nolan

Bernie Nolan was a very special lady who loved to sing and act. She was born a long, long time ago, on October 17th, 1960. Imagine a whole bunch of sisters who loved making music together!

Bernie was one of six sisters, and she was the second youngest. She grew up in a town called Blackpool in England, but she was born in Ireland. She had a voice that could fill a room and a smile that made everyone happy.

Bernie was the lead singer for a famous girl group called The Nolans. They started making music in 1974, and they were super popular! They had seven songs that were in the top 20 hits in the UK, which is like being one of the most popular songs in the whole country.

Their most famous song was called 'I'm in the Mood for Dancing.' Can you imagine dancing with your sisters and singing for everyone? They even won a big music prize in Japan!

After singing with her sisters, Bernie decided to try something new: acting! She became a fantastic actress and appeared in two popular TV shows. One was called 'Brookside,' and the other was 'The Bill.' She also acted in many musicals on stage.

Musicals are like plays where people sing and dance a lot! Bernie played a character called Mrs. Johnstone in 'Blood Brothers,' which is a very famous musical.

She was also in 'Flashdance: The Musical' and 'Chicago.'

Bernie Nolan was a bright star who brought joy to many people with her singing and acting. Even though she was very famous, she was also a real person who loved her family. She was part of a special reunion tour with The Nolans in 2009, which was a big success. Sadly, Bernie got sick and passed away in 2013, but her music and her performances are still remembered and loved by many.
