Where is This Amazing Bridge?

The Belenski most is a super-duper old bridge in a country called Bulgaria. It stretches over a river named the Yantra River. It's near a town called Byala, which means 'white' in Bulgarian! Think of it like a giant stone pathway connecting two sides of the river, making it easy for people to cross.

Who Built This Giant Stone Smile?

A very smart and brave builder named Kolyu Ficheto built this bridge a super long time ago, between 1865 and 1867. He was so sure he could build it for a good price that he told the important boss, 'You can take my head if I can't do it!' He used strong local stones to make it last for ages.

Bridges That Tell Stories!

This bridge is special because it has 14 big, round arches that look like smiles. Each arch is as tall as a four-story building! The bridge is 276 meters long, which is longer than two football fields put together. It's also decorated with cool pictures of animals carved into the stone!

A Bridge That Needed a Makeover!

Once, a big flood happened and damaged some of the bridge's arches. But don't worry! People fixed it up between 1922 and 1923. They used new, strong materials to make it safe again, but they made sure it still looked like the beautiful old bridge it was. Now, cars use a new bridge nearby, so the old one can be admired!
