Splash into Our Islands!

Baba and Bhit Islands are two special places floating in the ocean near a big city called Karachi in Pakistan. They are super small, even smaller than a football field! But guess what?

Lots and lots of people call these little islands home. It’s like having a whole school of friends living on a tiny patch of land. They are connected to the big city by boats called ferries, which are like floating buses!

Island Homes for a Long, Long Time!

These islands have been around for a super long time, even before Karachi was a city! People say they are over 400 years old. That’s older than your grandparents, and even older than their grandparents! For hundreds of years, families have lived here, fishing in the sea and building their homes. They are like ancient villages that have stayed put for ages, watching the world change around them.

Who Lives on the Islands?

The people who live on Baba and Bhit Islands are very friendly! They are mostly fishermen and their families. They have their own special way of calling themselves, which is Morrio Pata.

They also have friends and family who live on a nearby island called Shams Pir. Everyone on these islands is Muslim and they speak languages like Sindhi and Kutchi. It’s a close-knit community where everyone knows each other!

Island Jobs and Fun!

The main job on these islands is fishing! The fishermen go out into the sea every day to catch fish, which they then sell. This helps them buy food and other things they need. They are very good at what they do! Even though the islands are small, they are full of life and activity, with people working together and sharing their catch. It’s a busy life by the sea!
