They also have a special job in the government, sitting in a big room called the House of Lords.
A Super Old Job!
This job is super old, starting way back in the year 597! The very first Archbishop was a man named Augustine. He was sent all the way from Rome to help start the church in England. Imagine traveling that far back then! For a long, long time, the Archbishops were part of the Catholic Church, but then King Henry VIII made some big changes and started the Church of England.
Why They're So Important!
The Archbishop is a really important person because they guide the church and help make big decisions. They are like the main storyteller for the church's beliefs. When there are big events or important messages to share, the Archbishop is often the one to do it. How a New Leader is Chosen!

Then, a special group of people from the church votes. It's a very important process to make sure the right person is chosen for this big job.
