All the world's a stage

Have you ever watched a play or a movie? Well, a very famous writer named William Shakespeare had a super cool idea. He said that the whole world is like a big stage, and everyone on Earth is like an actor in a play! Our lives are like the story of that play. It's a fun way to think about how we all grow up and have different parts to play as we get older.

This amazing idea comes from a play Shakespeare wrote a super long time ago, called 'As You Like It'. There's a character in the play named Jaques who says these famous words. He was a bit of a thoughtful person, and he looked around and thought about how people change throughout their lives.

He decided to compare life to a play with different acts, and each act is a different stage of growing up.

Think about a play. It has different scenes, and the actors change their costumes and their roles. Shakespeare said our lives are like that too!

We start as tiny babies, then we're kids in school, then teenagers, then grown-ups, and then older people. Each part of our life is like a different scene in the play, and we learn and change as we go through them. It's like having seven different costumes for your life!

Shakespeare talked about seven main parts, or 'ages', of a person's life. You start as a little baby who just cries and needs help. Then you become a school kid who loves to play and learn. After that, you might become a teenager who is figuring things out. Then you become a young adult, then a middle-aged person, and finally, an older person. Each stage is a new adventure on the world's stage!
