Air handler

An air handler is like a super-powered fan and air conditioner all rolled into one big metal box. It's a very important part of keeping the air in buildings comfortable. Inside, it has a fan that blows air around, and sometimes it has parts that heat or cool the air.

It also has filters to clean the air, making sure you breathe in fresh, clean air. Think of it as the lungs of a building, helping it breathe easy!

This giant box is usually connected to lots of tubes called ducts. These ducts are like highways for air, carrying the fresh, clean air to different rooms in a building. The air handler also has a way to bring used air back, clean it, and send it out again.

Sometimes, it even lets out some old air and brings in brand new air from outside to keep things extra fresh. It’s a constant cycle of air cleaning and moving!

Not all air handlers are giant boxes! Some smaller ones are called terminal units. These are like mini air handlers that might just have a filter and a fan to help with the air in just one room or a small area. They are much simpler but still do a great job of making the air feel better. It’s like having a personal air cleaner just for your space!

Air handlers are super important because they help us feel comfortable no matter the weather outside. They make sure the air inside is not too hot or too cold, and that it's clean to breathe.
