Aguascalientes

Aguascalientes is a special state in Mexico, like a small but mighty puzzle piece! It's tucked away in the middle of the country, not too far from the United States border. It has neighbors named Zacatecas and Jalisco.

Even though it's one of the smaller states, it's packed with people! It's like a cozy town where everyone knows each other. The land is high up, about as high as a very tall mountain, and it can get pretty warm and dry there.

The name Aguascalientes sounds fancy, right? It actually means 'hot waters' because long ago, there were lots of warm, bubbly springs! Today, most people live in the big capital city, which is also called Aguascalientes.

People who live there are called 'hidrocálidos' or 'aguascalentenses'. They are known for being very welcoming. It’s a place that’s growing super fast, like a plant that gets watered every day!

Aguascalientes used to be famous for trains and making cloth, and they still make wine! But the most exciting thing is the San Marcos Fair. It's the biggest fair in all of Mexico, and it lasts for weeks!
