Aevum: A Time Between Times!

Aevum is a super interesting idea from old philosophy books! It's like a special way of experiencing time. Think of it as a middle ground.

It’s not like God's time, which is forever and ever with no beginning or end. It's also not like our time, where we have seconds, minutes, and hours ticking by. Aevum is for beings who are not stuck in the fast-paced flow of our world, but also not completely outside of time like God is.

It's a unique state of being!

This special time is thought to be for angels and for people who are in heaven. Imagine angels, with their wings and bright halos, living in this 'aevum' state. It means they don't experience time like we do, with birthdays and holidays passing by.

They might experience moments or periods, but not in the same way we count days. It’s a way for them to exist that’s different from us humans on Earth, and also different from the timelessness of God.

Our time is always moving forward, like a river flowing. We can remember yesterday and look forward to tomorrow. But in Aevum, time might feel different.

It's sometimes called 'improper eternity' because it's like a piece of eternity that these beings 'borrow' or 'share.' They aren't stuck in the constant change of our world, but they also aren't in God's eternal, unchanging existence. It's a special, in-between kind of time!
