Abidjan

Abidjan is a HUGE city in a country called Ivory Coast, way over in Africa. It's so big that lots and lots of people live there, almost as many as in some of the biggest cities you might have heard of! Even though it's not the capital anymore, it's still super important for jobs and fun things.

It's a place where people from all over West Africa come to live and work, making it a very exciting mix of cultures.

Once upon a time, Abidjan was a much smaller place. But then, they built a special dock, like a big parking spot for boats, in 1931. This helped ships bring things to and from the city. Later, they dug a long canal, like a watery road, that made it even easier for big ships to visit. Because of these changes, Abidjan grew super fast, like a plant in fast-forward!

Abidjan is like the busy engine of Ivory Coast. It has tons of factories and buildings, making it a very modern place. It's also the biggest city where people speak French in West Africa! This means lots of important decisions about money and business happen here. It's a place that helps the whole country move forward, like a team captain leading their players.

Did you know that Abidjan is so big, over 6 million people call it home? That's more people than live in many countries! It's also the sixth most crowded city in all of Africa. It's a place where people from different backgrounds come together, creating a vibrant and lively atmosphere. It's a true crossroads of cultures and ideas.
