Key Facts
Meet the Red Army!
Imagine a super-fast team that wears bright red! That's Aberdeen F.C., a famous football club from Scotland. They play in a special league called the Scottish Premiership.
What's really cool is that they've always stayed in the top league since way back in 1905. That's longer than your grandparents have been alive! They've won lots of shiny trophies, like the Scottish Cup and League Cup.
They even won special European prizes, which is super rare for a Scottish team!
From Three Teams to One Big Family!
Aberdeen F.C. wasn't always one team. It all started in 1903 when three smaller teams in the city of Aberdeen decided to join forces. It was like three friends deciding to make the best superhero team ever!
For a while, they didn't win many big games. But after a big war, a manager named Dave Halliday helped them win all the important Scottish prizes. Then, in the 1980s, a legendary manager named Alex Ferguson led them to even MORE wins, including those amazing European trophies!
A Stadium Like No Other!
The place where Aberdeen F.C. plays is called Pittodrie Stadium. It's been their home since they started! This stadium is super special because it was the very first one in the whole United Kingdom to have all seats and a roof.
Imagine never getting rained on during a game! Even cooler, Pittodrie was the first football stadium to have a 'dug-out', which is where the coaches sit to shout instructions. It was invented by a player named Donald Colman!
Red, White, and Winning!
For most of their history, Aberdeen F.C. has worn bright red shirts with white details. Before that, they wore black and gold stripes, which is a bit different! They have lots of fans from the city and nearby places.
Because there aren't any other teams super close by, they have friendly rivalries with teams that are a bit further away. They are known as the 'Dons' and have a proud history of playing exciting football.
