Trinidad and Tobago's Big Vote in 2025!

In Trinidad and Tobago, grown-ups get to vote for the people who will make important decisions for their country. In 2025, they had a big election to choose everyone for the House of Representatives. This is like picking the captains for a big team!

The President, with advice from the Prime Minister, decided it was time for everyone to vote on March 18, 2025. It was a day filled with excitement and important choices for the island nation.

Before the election, the people who organize voting made some changes. They drew new lines for where people vote, like making new playgrounds! Sixteen areas, called constituencies, got new shapes, and five even got new names.

This made sure everyone's vote counted fairly. Lots of different groups, called political parties, and even some people who weren't part of a group, wanted to be chosen. It was like a big race with many runners!

When all the votes were counted, a new team won the most seats! The United National Congress, led by Kamla Persad-Bissessar, won 26 seats. This means she became the Prime Minister again, which is like the captain of the whole country! The other big team, the People's National Movement, which was in charge before, won 13 seats and became the team that watches and gives ideas. It was a big change!

The island of Tobago is part of Trinidad and Tobago, and they have their own special way of choosing leaders too. In this election, the Tobago People's Party, led by Farley Augustine, did something amazing! They won both seats for Tobago. This shows how important it is for everyone, even on smaller islands, to have their voices heard and choose their own representatives.
