Key Facts
Russia's Giant Playground!
Russia is the biggest country in the whole world, like a giant playground stretching across so much land! It has super cold places with snow all year and warmer spots too. To count everyone, special people had to travel to tiny villages and even places that are hard to get to, like islands or mountains. They wanted to make sure no one was missed in this enormous country!
When Did They Count?
The big counting party for Russia's people happened mostly in October and November of 2021. But guess what? For places that are super far away and tricky to reach, like where polar bears live, the counting started way back in April and lasted all the way until December! It's like some kids got to play with their new toys for months before others even got them!
A Special Mission!
The people in charge of counting, called Rosstat, had a motto: 'Create the future!'. This means that knowing how many people live in Russia helps them plan for schools, hospitals, and fun places for everyone. It's like knowing how many friends are coming to a party so you can have enough cake and games for everyone!
Did Everyone Get Counted?
The census wanted to count almost everyone in Russia. They said they counted 99% of people, which is a lot! But some people think maybe not everyone was counted. It's like when you try to count all the stars in the sky – it's hard to be absolutely sure you got every single one!
