The Day the Giant Stack Fell Down

Once upon a time, at a big school called Texas A&M, students built a HUGE bonfire every year. It was like a giant tower made of logs, stacked super high! They built it for a special event. It was very, very early in the morning, when most people were fast asleep. The bonfire was still being built, like a puzzle with many pieces. Suddenly, with a loud noise, the whole giant stack of wood collapsed. It was a shocking moment. This happened on November 18, 1999. It was a very dark and sad morning for everyone involved.

When the giant bonfire fell, it was a terrible accident. Sadly, 12 people lost their lives because of the collapse. Many others were hurt and needed help.
